Oh, beloved Chaddicus.com, how I really do love you. However, I must tell you that our romance is over. I have met a new, more powerful website. She is all my own. She has no ties to Blogger or Google like you do. And she is very flexible. Sure, I only just met her, but it feels right.
If ever you need to find me, I will be at www.chadzahara.com.
Your friend forever,
Chad

Changes.
Yesterday I posted a short poem that I wrote a while ago. I get a strange feeling when I read it, as if I have actually accomplished something that changed my life. See, I have done as the poem says. I have "set sail to the crystalline winds of discovery" and find it no longer a goal but a lifestyle. This gives me hope. Maybe we can truly change our lives.

Only the Rising Sun
Like the tides my personality pulsed,
But no more upon the shore than on the boats in waiting,
Just a steady sway of this or that or what would one day be,
And now I wonder if I even have a past at all.
So I set sail to the crystalline winds of discovery,
No longer shall I consider the common current.
I imagine I will eventually find what I am looking for,
But there is no haste nor strategy,
Only the rising sun.

My first ever win in Monopoly!
Last night I won my first ever game of Monopoly. In fact, I dominated the game. Within an hour and a half I had bankrupted the two other players (my sister and my dad). With all of my cash an assets counted, I won with approximately $14,000. I was lucky in some of the rolls I made, but I did play a very clever game. I am so proud of myself. ^_^

My first name.
Chad
English: modern spelling of Old English Ceadda, name of a 7th-century saint who was for a time archbishop of York. This is of uncertain derivation. The name is comparatively rare, even among Roman Catholics, by whom it is chiefly favoured.

Update: the following is what I found on www.behindthename.com

CHAD
From the Old English name Ceadda which is of unknown meaning, possibly based on Welsh cad "battle". This was the name of a 7th-century English saint. Borne primarily by Catholics, it was a rare name until the 1960s when it started to become more common amongst the general population. This is also the name of a country in Africa, though it originates from a different source.

Twelve million others.
I am logged on to Skype incase one of my two contacts decides to join me. At the bottom of the window there is a count of how many people are currently using Skype; apparently 12,040,349 people. Let's say twelve million. Anyway, I don't like that it's there. It makes me feel so very alone.

Wise words on success and failure.
"I've dwelled on my failures today because, as graduates of Harvard, your biggest liability is your need to succeed. Your need to always find yourself on the sweet side of the bell curve. Because success is a lot like a bright, white tuxedo. You feel terrific when you get it, but then you're desperately afraid of getting it dirty, of spoiling it in any way.
I left the cocoon of Harvard, I left the cocoon of Saturday Night Live, I left the cocoon of The Simpsons. And each time it was bruising and tumultuous. And yet, every failure was freeing, and today I'm as nostalgic for the bad as I am for the good.
So, that's what I wish for all of you: the bad as well as the good. Fall down, make a mess, break something occasionally. And remember that the story is never over."
- Conan O'Brien, from Commencement Speech to the Harvard Class of 2000You may read the speech or watch it.
